When we switched Olive to The Farmer’s Dog, we followed their instructions to the letter. She did great and is always thrilled to see her box of fresh food arrive.

Switching from kibble to fresh food should be done gradually to avoid digestive upset. Start by mixing 25% The Farmer’s Dog food with 75% of your dog’s current food, and slowly increase the proportion of fresh food over several days until you reach 100%. This slow transition allows your dog’s digestive system to adjust and sets the stage for long-term success.

Establishing regular mealtimes (rather than leaving food out all day) is also crucial. This not only helps with weight control but also makes it easier to monitor your dog’s appetite and overall health. Plus, fresh food needs to be properly handled because it’s, well, fresh.
